Avard Law Offices has Two Board Certified Social Security Disability Attorneys. Board Certification is Rigorous and Requires the Following:
- Pass a four hour examination that includes writing a legal brief and responding to lengthy multiple choice questions;
- Be recommended by ten to twelve Administrative Law Judges, opposing counsel at the Federal Court level, medical experts, vocational experts, or peer practitioners;
- Produce evidence of handling no fewer than 200 Social Security Disability Hearings within the three years prior to the application;
- Produce evidence of filing no less than 20 Appeals Council briefs within the three years prior to the application;
- Produce evidence of handling no less than two briefs in the United States District Court of Appeals and/or Circuit Court of Appeals within the three years prior to the application;
- Produce evidence of substantial participation in continuing legal education and the development of law with respect to Social Security Disability in the three year period prior to filing the application for certification. The continuing education must include no less than 36 hours in Social Security Disability law and/or ethics, or equivalent participation, through teaching courses in Social Security Disability law or ethics, participation as a panelist, speaker, or workshop leader at professional conferences, or authorship of books or articles published in professional journals on Social Security Disability law.
